About

My Background

As a child, fascinated by colour, I found it comforting to express my emotions through painting (unaware at the time).

At school I was taught Art where I used my mind and continued with it as part of my Fashion and Textiles course.

Over a decade later, I reconnected with Art in a completely different way - mindlessly (intuitively). It was during a period of darkness, through which a yearning for self-discovery began. Immersing in nature, meditation, travelling, spending time with animals and babies were, and still are some ways in which my being is nourished.

My Work

Rina Kang's artwork is an unrestrained expression of creativity that emanates from the depths of her heart and soul.
Her work is not limited to a particular style, technique, medium or colour palette, and she approaches each piece without any preconceived ideas or plans.

Rina's art is inspired by her innate sense of being, which is reflected in deep/vibrant hues, varying textures, and fluid movement that she employs in her work. Rina's artwork is characterized by the interplay of smooth and harsh brushstrokes, which often resemble the feathery texture of birds, the fluttering of butterfly wings, the delicacy of flower petals, and the playfulness of ribbons. The layering of opaque and transparent colours creates depth and invites viewers to explore and embrace their emotions, and allows them to experience a deeper understanding of themselves.

Rina studied art in the past, but lost touch with it for a while. However, she eventually rediscovered her passion and reconnected with it differently. In 2021, she decided to share her purpose of healing through painting with the world. Her work has been exhibited and collected both in the UK and internationally.

'I hope that my work resonates with the hearts of those who experience it as an insightful journey, beyond the painting, where one can connect with their true nature that is rooted in love, joy, and peace'.

Through her art, she aims to inspire others to continue on their path of healing and self-discovery. Rina regards her gift for painting as a blessing and is deeply grateful for the opportunity to share it with the world.
